MELBOURNE, 14 January 2021: After the COVID-19 pandemic hit 2020 stopped movie releases in Australia, cine-goers have been eagerly waiting for enjoying restrictions-free movies in cinema halls. So, the Mind Blowing Films (MBF) is all set for their first 2021 release, Madam Chief Minister, on 22 January 2021. The Hindi movie with English subtitles stars Richa Chadha and is directed by Subhash Kapoor.
It’s a political-drama with a woman’s theme, the film raises the issue of a woman to live with dignity has always been at crossroads with society’s norms. Especially in the hinterlands of UP, where the birth of a girl child is still a stigma, a woman’s dignity lies simply in survival; survival by subjugating to men and society, in that order.
Apart from Richa Chadha, the movie stars Manav Kaul, Akshay Oberoi, Saurabh Shukla, Subhrajyoti Barat, Nikhil Vijay among others. It is produced by T-Series and A Kangra Talkies Production.
