FISA calls for calm and peace

In response to the recent incidents in the Harris Park area in suburban Sydney, FISA sends a strong message to that it denounces any form of violence. FISA rejects acts of thuggery or retaliatory acts and is appealing to all Indian students and the Indian community for calm.

FISA’s Sydney Representatives and members of the Indian community met with the Parramatta Local Area Command Robert Redfern and conveyed their commitment to work jointly with Australian authorities on the issues at hand.

Robert Redfern has urged all Indian students living in the Parramatta Local Area Command and specifically Harris Park area in Sydney to call Daniel Wiggins in charge of customer relationship on 02 9633 0799 at the Parramatta Police Station to register their current and past complaints and concerns which will be actioned. It is important that every student affected in the past and continuing to experience security issues should lodge their case with the police.

FISA will continue to work with the Local Area Command, the Australian Government, the police and the broader Australian community for determining appropriate actions and peaceful resolutions to ensure the safety of not only Indian international students but all international students studying in Australia.
