India’s Union Minister for Textiles, Mr. Shankarsinh Vaghela will be in in Melbourne and Sydney in the first week of July. On second July, Mr Vaghela will attend a grand dinner in Melbourne organised in his honour by the Gujarati Association of Victoria (GAV).
Mr. Vaghela is a former Chief Minister of Gujarat and President of the Gujarat Congress party.
The Minister is leading a high profile delegation to Australia to promote Indian textiles and handicrafts products. HE Mr. P P Shukla, Indian High Commissioner to Australia and Mr. Ram Chander, Acting Indian Consul General, Melbourne, are also expected to attend the dinner.
On 3rd July, The Minister will address a seminar on “Brand Image Promotion of Indian Handicrafts and Carpets” in Melbourne. He will interact with Australian buyers, importers and wholesalers.
Later the Minister will attend a similar seminar in Sydney on July 4.The seminars are supported by the Australia India Business Council and the India Trade Centre.
