Delhi CWG: Weightlifting Hall ceiling crashes at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium

New Delhi: Another incident has taken place on Wednesday morning to tarnish the already dented imgae of the Delhi Commonwealth Games. The false ceiling of the weightlifting hall gave way and came crashing. It was the same portion of the ceiling that was shaky when trials events were held at the hall last month. It was then pointed out to the authorities by media but they covered up the issue, saying it is a minor inicident. but today media is proved right. The weightlifting hall is situated in the main Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JNS) complex, the main stadium of the games.

Due to these developments, foreign teams have delayed their arrival in Delhi. England, New Zealand, Scotland have announced delayed arrival at the games starting on October 5.
