Names of Indian students drowned in Australia on Dec.10, 2007

Drowning update

According to reports the two Indian students who drowned in Australia on Dec. 10, 2007 evening have been named as Deakin University commerce student Pradeep Singh, 19, and community welfare student, Avneet Kullar, 22, by a spokesman for the Indian consulate-general in Melbourne.The consulate had contacted the students’ families and was making arrangements to have their bodies flown back to India, he said.

Lifesavers found the unconscious 19-year-old student about 6.40pm, but were unable to save him.The body of the woman was found floating in the water about one hour later.Lifesaving Victoria spokesman Brett Ellis said there had been numerous drownings at nearby Urquhart Bluff, Angelsea in Victoria.
