Dear friends,

As you all may have known that, three young Gujarati international students have perished in a massive house fire at West Footscray,(Victoria) in the early hours of Thursday the 3rd January 08. Two students are haling from Vadodara and one from Mehsana in Gujarat.A family of three (husband+wife+5year old daughter) miraculously escaped this tragic fire and one more student was at job that night also survived the fire. One of the deceased person’s wife is currently doing Masters in Civil Engineering at Ballarat University.

We as senior members of The Gujarati Association Of Victoria (GAV)’s Management Committee have visited the family and friends of these students after the tragic happenings.
We have identified that there is an urgent need of collecting donations towards:
• organizing the funerals &/or
• transport of their bodies or
• financial help to their immediate families in India and
• rehabilitation of the survivors of this tragic incident

We are now urging to all Gujaratis across Australia and their friends to generously donate funds on an urgent basis to this worthy cause.
