Melbourne, May 1: The one man industry of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is creating waves with his iconic presence and a warm welcome. Lovers of Bollywood are hanging out in large numbers where ever he goes. During a short interview with SAT on the outcome of the Indian elections, he said the most able person should lead India.

Yesterday, he addressed the media along with Victorian Hon. Louise Asher MP and Minister for Tourism and Major Events, and Minister for Employment and Trade and Mitu Bhowmick, CEO of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014.

Announcing the opening of the festival, Mr. Bachchan said this will not be his last visit while commending the Victorian government for supporting the festival.

“I am proud to be part of the festival and feel honoured to open the festival,” he said.
Answering to a question on India’s political situation by SAT, Mr. Bachchan said the most able person should lead the country. But he skirted naming the person.

On his experience in politics Mr. Bachchan said he was not qualified for politics and hence gave it up. On being told that there were worse people in politics around, he said, it is for them to decide whether to be in politics or not.

Later in the evening (May 1) at the Hoyts (Melbourne Central) Mr. Bachchan lighted the traditional lamp to open the festival. He also recited a section of his father Harbans Rai Bachchan’s Hindi poem ‘Madhushala’. He also answered questions from the audience.
