Melbourne, 28 December: The heat at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) today got a bit more heated with Indian batsman Virat Kohli and Australian bowler Mitchell Johnson in a heated exchange after Kohli was hit by a ball thrown by Mitchell after attempting to run him out and he fell down on the ground.

Kohli, who scored 169 today to bring India back into the game, later said in the post game media conference said, “The way the ball was coming, I was very angry and I was hit with the ball.”

“Some are there who do not respect me. I have no respect for them. I don’t care what they think”, he said.

He also said, “I am prepared for any type of bowling and not worried about the pace and bounce.”

When asked about the chat he had with Mitchell Johnson on the field, Kohli said,” I don’t mind a chat on the field.”

“I like playing against Australia because it’s very hard for them to stay calm,” he said.

“I don’t mind. I will give it on the field. It really excites me and brings the best out in me.

“They don’t seem to be learning the lesson.”

“It’s all about correcting one’s mistakes and one needs to keep learning”, when asked about him getting out in the last over of the day.

At the end of the third day India scored 462/8 in 126.2 overs in reply to Australia’s first innings score of 530. Virat Kohli scored 169 and Ajankiya Rahane 147. India trails Australia by 68 runs and will resume batting on Day 4 with two wickets in hand.
