Solan (Himachal Pradesh): sex scam tainted self-styled spiritual guru and godman Swami Nityanand, along with four of his associates, was on Wednesday arrested from the house of a Delhi-based businessman here.

PTI reports that the arrests were made by a Karnataka Crime Investigation Department team and policemen from Himachal Pradesh in Mamlig village under the Arki police station area, Solan Deputy Commissioner Amar Singh Rathore said.

Nithyananda, 32, and his associates, including his close aide, Nithya Bhaktananda alias Gopal Seelam Reddy, were being shifted to Shimla, 45 km from Arki, for being produced before a court on Thursday for transit remand to take them to Bangalore, Himachal Pradesh DIG (CID) N. Venugopal said, reports PTI.

The report further says the arrests were made after police tracked a mobile phone having a Himachal Pradesh SIM card to establish their location, Solan Superintendent of Police Prem Kumar Thakur said.
