New Delhi: Voting in India’s Phase one of the general elections to the 15th Lok Sabha started on Thursday (16 April) covering 124 parliamentary constituencies in 17 States and Union Territories. The polling started at 7 a.m. and will go on till 5 p.m. There are 14,31,01,943 with 1,715 candidates. States covered today are Andhra Pradesh (22 Lok Sabha seats), Assam (3), Bihar (13), Kerala (20), Maharashtra (13), Orissa (10), Uttar Pradesh (16), Chhattisgarh (11), Jharkhand (6), Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya (two each), and Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep (one each).
