New Delhi, July 1: India’s Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna is likely to visit Australia in early August. The visit comes amidst continuing attacks on Indian overseas students in Australia which ignited public anger in both countries.
“I have decided to go to Australia. Dates are going to be finalised soon,” Krishna told reporters.
A recent report in The Age said 54 international students — nearly half of them from India — had died in Australia last year. But the Australian government has contested the claim saying the reports “did not contain accurate statistics”.
