Melbourne, April 14: A 23 -year -old Indian student, Neeraj Bhardawaj was bashed unconscious and robbed in the city on Easter Monday, says attack was racially-motivated.
Two drunk men, who Neeraj says were white and in their 20s, demanded his wallet. After getting the wallet they punched him several times and screamed ”F— off, go back to your own country, ” The Age newspaper reports.
The assault left him with a damaged left eye, broken nose, headaches and sore ribs. He said doctors told him his left eye had lost ”80 to 90 per cent” of its capacity and might never recover.
A police investigation is continuing. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
