BOXING DAY TEST DAY-2 (Dec.27)
By our sports correspondent
Melbourne(MCG) Dec.27: On the second day (Dec. 27) of the Boxing Day cricket match between Australia and India, the Aussies were batting at 32 for no loss after dismissing India for a dismal 196.
Earlier, Australian fast bowlers Brett Lee (4 for 46) and Stuart Clark (4 for 24) devastated the Indian batting order.
Tandulkar’s 62 coming from 77 balls (8 boundaries and a six) gave some breath to the collapsing Indian team. Talking to the media about his dismissal, Tandulkar said that “the ball came slower then expected” and “the idea was to play out a few balls (before lunch) but the ball came slow”.
About the future course of the match Tandulkar said that “the situation is not easy but we will fight back. We will have to get wickets as early as possible.”
