Melbourne: A Hindu priest, Rajaratanasarma, 64 at the temple in Carrum Downs has been charged with indecent assault. Frankston Police allege the priest assaulted the two women on the temple grounds, reports the Frankston Standard Leader (26 April, 2010).
The paper reports, “ Sen-Constable Ross told the court a 28-year-old women attended the temple on April 23, 2009 tp pray and receive blessings from the priest.
“At the time, she was feeling vunerable due to issues in her life,” he said.
“The defendent (priest) approached her and started to pray for her. On finding she was having issues, he invited her to see her horoscope after she finished her prayers.”
The priest took her “..into a prayer room and started blessing her with prayer powder. During the blessing he indecently touched the women’s groin and brests, “ reports the Frankston Standard Leader.
The second charge related to a 23-year-old women who attended the temple in July 12, 2004, reports the paper.
