After days of suspense, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray has been arrested by the Mumbai Police on Tuesday.
He has been taken to Vikhroli court. The arrest comes after an FIR was filed against the leader for inciting violence in Mumbai.
Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi, who is also facing similar charges, has also been arrested.
Security had been beefed up at Vikhroli court in suburban Mumbai. His lawyers have asked for an appointment there where they will argue for bail.

The governments at the center and state levels must act with similar exemplary force against all those who incite violence, fear, and hatred against their fellow countrymen and women by taking the law into their own hands.
It is only then that such ruffians and goons as the Bajrang Dal and other mischievous elements from across all political parties will learn to behave.
As for Raj Thackeray, he got off easy – he is morally accountable for the death of the Maharashtrian in Nasik and deserves a long prison term.
