Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt was today granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case. The interim bail is till the time the TADA court in Mumbai provides a copy of judgement to Dutt. Sanjay is serving a six-year prison term in Pune’s Yerawada jail.

The TADA court is expected to give a copy of its judgment by August 27—which will allow Dutt to spend seven days outside jail.

The court said immediately after getting the copy of the judgement, he should surrender before the trial court for consideration of regular bail.The apex court said that the passport of Dutt will remain with the trial court and he cannot leave the country without its permission.

Sanjay Dutt likely to be released on Tuesday from Yerwada jail.
