South Asia Times celebrated five years of publication on 6th September, 2008 at the Ashburton Library, Ashburton. The function organised to mark the occasion had prominent community people, supporters and others attending it. Mr. Anil Gupta (Indian Consulate, Melbourne) read out the message of Anita Nayar, Indian Consul General in Melbourne. Others who addressed the gathering were Neeraj Nanda, Editor South Asia Times, Preeti Jabbal (Indian Link), General Secretary South Asian Journalists Association of Australia (SAJAA) and Manoj Kumar Ecotech. The M/C Of the function was none other than Mr. R. Sultan, prominent literary figure and journalist. Others who attended included Siddharth & Tanu (Indus Age), Gautam Gupta and Hari Yellena (FISA), Mr. Vernon Da Gama, President AIII, Mrs. Geraldine Gonsalves, Chairperson, AIII. Kamal Nannar, Hot Chillie Media and Nitin Gupta. The event concluded with drinks and a tasty dinner supplied by Radhey of Haldiram fame.
