Melbourne: Thousands of people from all walks of life attended the AIII-NAM Diwali Fair 2007 at the Sandown Racecourse, Nobel Park on 28th October (Sunday). This was the fifth year of the fair and it had record attendance. The fair opened early 9.30 am and went on till 9.30 pm. The highlights of the fair included a large variety of food stalls which sold Indian food and tasty sweets of all variety and flavors. There were also a wide variety of non-food stalls of – Mehandi, DVDs, CDs, ready made garments, curtains, newspapers, cricket memorabilia, Satellite TV and much more. The colorful fair also had a day long cultural program inside the main hall where adequate sitting arrangements were made. A large number of VIPs and community leaders also attended and addressed the large gathering. It was no doubt the best Diwali event organized in Melbourne. Many months of hard work went behind the fair. All credit goes to the AIII committee, which worked hard and made the event a grand success.
