Driver charged over Shepparton collision that took 4 Punjabi lives

MELBOURNE, 11  January 2023: A Punjabi Indian-origin man, 41 has been charged for a horror collision that took the lives of four Punjabi-origin passengers in his car,  after his Peugeot, crashed into a Toyota Hilux ute. The The mishap took place, at an intersection in Shepparton, Victoria. “A car and ute collided on Pine Lodge North Road, near Cosgrove-Lemnos Road, at about 4.45 pm on 4 January. says SBS Punjabi.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a quadruple fatality in Pine Lodge early this month.

A car and ute collided on Pine Lodge North Road, near Cosgrove-Lemnos Road, about 4.45pm on 4 January.

The ute driver, a 29-year-old Nathalia man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

There were five people in the car that collided with the ute, struck a road sign and came to rest in a nearby paddock.

Four of the five occupants from the car died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 41-year-old Shepparton man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he remains under police guard.

He has been charged with four counts of dangerous driving causing death and remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 8 June.
