ABC News tops in weekly offline & online news reach: Reuters Institute

MELBOURNE, 23 June, 2024: The Reuters Institute’s Digital News Report 2024, released recently charts the weekly news ecosystem in Australia. With a population of 26 million and 90 %  internet penetration, the offline and online stats for Australia are revealing. They speak for themselves. Let’s have a look.

In weekly offline stats (TV, Radio, Print), ABC News is no. 1 with 36 %, Ch-7 is no 2 with 34%, Ch-9 is no-3 with 32%, both Ch-10 and SBS (TV, Radio) are no-4  each with 14 % reach. (SEE BELOW STATS FOR ALL OUTLETS)

In weekly online stats, news.com.au & abcnews.com.au both have 24 % each, 9 News online has 16 %, 7news.com.au has 13 % and Guardian Australia online has 13% reach.
