SYDNEY, 6 July 2022: Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, India’s Mr. Raj Kumar Singh, Minister of Power and Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Arfin Tasrif, Indonesian Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources, world leading business, technology and finance clean energy experts and innovators will meet in Sydney at The Sydney Energy Forum on 12–13 July to support the region’s clean energy transition.

The Forum will identify practical actions to realise opportunities and address barriers in clean energy supply chains for the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

The Forum will be structured around four key themes: Decarbonisation, energy security and the scale and pace of the transition; the transformative role of clean energy technologies; diverse and resilient clean energy supply chains; and enabling markets, capabilities and systems to support the transition. These themes will be used to consider opportunities in areas such as ultra low-cost solar and battery technologies, the critical minerals and gigafactories needed to produce them, and the development of hydrogen supply chains to export clean
energy across the region.

The ‘Forum Outline’ says, ” The Forum will explore these issues and identify practical actions for governments and the private sector to overcome barriers and realise the benefits of creating secure and diverse supply chains for clean energy technologies in the region.

An expert High-Level Panel has been established to guide preparation of the Forum. The Panel is being chaired by Dr. Alan Finkel AC, Special Adviser to the Australian Government on Low Emissions Technology, and comprises international experts in low emissions technology, finance, industry and research.”
