NEW DELHI, 6 September 2022: The one-day Australia India Leadership Dialogue 2022 (AILD-2022), today took place here with virtual addresses by Australian and Indian foreign ministers Penny Wong and Dr. S. Jaishankar.

Penny Wong said, “Honoured to speak to the 2022 Australia India Leadership Dialogue alongside my friend and colleague Dr.S.Jaishankar. I am proud of the Australia-India relationship and inspired by its potential. Together we can achieve even more, in our region and across the world.”

In his address, Dr. S. Jaishankar said, ” But it is really in the realm of politics and strategy that the transformation has been the sharpest. Much of the growing convergence has been driven by concerns about the region’s stability, prosperity, and security. The deficit in global goods has sought to be addressed by India and Australia working together bilaterally as well as in larger formats. This reflects their shared concerns about respect for international law and a rules-based order.”
