Australia’s Bengaluru Consulate to open in 2023: Tim Watts

MELBOURNE, 17 November 2022: Australia’s Consulate will open in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in 2023. The information comes from Australia’s Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tim Watts, who is in Bangaluru to attend the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS), 16-18 November 2022. He is accompanied by a delegation from 80 Australian technology companies and policymakers. The Bengaluru Consulate will be Australia’s fifth diplomatic office in India.

In a Tweet today Tim says, ” With a new Consulate-General & the Centre of Excellence for Critical & Emerging Tech Policy arriving in Bengaluru in 2023, the India-Australia tech relationship is about to enter the Power Play!”
