MELBOURNE, 26 November 2022: Just before midnight today, Daniel Andrews cruised through to get a third term in the Victorian elections. The bitterly fought election, with a daily fare of media conspiracy theories including him losing the Mulgrave seat, was set to rest as Labor volunteers and supporters cheered Dan as he entered the Village Green Hotel, for his victory speech after Matt Guy congratulated him and conceded defeat in a phone call. Dan then addressed the Labor faithful.

The seat tally was smooth for Labor and hovering at 50 plus as Dan said, ” We will deliver every part of our positive plan to benefit each and every Victorian no matter how you voted… That is what our job is. We take our responsibility seriously because Labor does what matters.”

A results summary posted on the Victorian Electoral Commission site after 67.42 % of votes (two-candidate preferred (2CP) count says – the Australian Labor Party Victoria Branch has won 48 seats, Liberal 15 – Nationals 8, and the Australian Greens 4. The Age reports – ALP 54, LNP 20, and the Greens 4.

The Victorian Parliament had 88 seats and polling was not held for one seat where a candidate died.

The report will be updated soon.
