SYDNEY, 10 October 2022: Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s Minister for External Affairs (MEA) will address the Lowy Institute on the growing importance of India’s relationship with Australia and the interests that both countries share as members of the security-focused Quad.
Tue, 11 October 2022; 7:00PM – 8:00PM. The address will be live on YouTube (Address link at YouTube) After his remarks, Dr. Jaishankar will speak in conversation with Executive Director Michael Fullilove.

Dr. S. Jaishankar was appointed India’s Minister for External Affairs in 2019 following his election to the upper house of India’s parliament for the state of Gujarat. Dr. Jaishankar served as Foreign Secretary (2015–2018) and previously represented India in a number of senior diplomatic roles including Ambassador to the United States (2013–2015) and Ambassador to China (2009–2013). Dr Jaishankar holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi and in 2019 was awarded the Padma Shri civilian honour. His book, The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World, was published in 2020.
