
CRAINS/MELBOURNE, 26 September, 2025: India’s ‘INS Kadmatt’, currently deployed in the Indo Pacific, came to Cairns for a quick operational turnaround. The High Commissioner of India to Australia HE Mr Gopal Baglay, welcomed the Commanding Officer Commander Kutuhal Limaye and conveyed his appreciation to the crew of Kadmatt for enhancing bilateral relations and interoperability between our partners in the Indo-Pacific during their ongoing deployment.
During the port call, the Commanding Officer of HMAS Cairns called on the Commanding Officer of INS Kadmatt onboard. The two officers held cordial discussions on areas of mutual interest and cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Royal Australian Navy.
“High Commissioner congratulated the Commanding officer for INS Kadmatt’s successful participation in Papua New Guinea’s 50th Independence Day celebrations and the recent port call at Suva, Fiji. He conveyed his appreciation to the ship’s officers and crew for their professionalism and dedication in advancing India’s maritime cooperation with partner nations in the region, ” says a media release from the Indian High Commission, Canberra (25 Sept., 2025).
