MELBOURNE, 15 NOVEMBER 2022: Victoria’s Premier Daniel Andrews today had a rendezvous with Victoria’s multicultural media (MM) starting from the Nursing & Midwifery Federation (Victorian Branch) office.

He made crucial announcements for the MM relating to advertising and grants. This includes an increase of MM’s share in the budget revenue from 5% to 15 % and $ 1.5 million in other grants. These steps, the Premier said, were meant to keep the MM going to keep doing their stories.

The Premier said the MM is our great asset and we know, ” you guys play a critical role in getting messages through.” During the tough times, the MM’s role was critical and became our great asset. “The multicultural media does not work without you”, he said.

“Labor understands the importance of keeping multicultural media outlets strong, ensuring our media landscape continues to reflect the many communities who have helped shape the modern Victoria we know today”, he said.

The Premier then took the MM representatives for a ride cum Q-A trip to the city in his campaign bus. He candidly replied to many questions from media persons as the campaign bus cruised through the city roads. No doubt, the rather unusual media interaction gave him a chance to press his policies for the electorate already in pre-polling and 26 November 2022, the election date. On a two-party preferred vote, Daniel Andrews led Labor is ahead, though there is talk of Matthew Guy narrowing the lead.

Samantha Ratnam, Greens leader, feels a hung Parliament is possible and is ready with key demands to support Labor, reports The Age. Daniel Andrews looks confident of cruising through to a third term, the media is reporting. Still, the 26 November night news remains final.
