
MELBOURNE: In a bid to boost the Victorian economy, Premier Jacinta Allan on 10th December, 2024, announced the establishment of a Premier’s Business Council to hear directly from business on how the government can continue to create a stronger, more prosperous Victorian economy.
Mitu Bhowmick Lange, is among the members of the Premiers Business Council, to be Chaired by Ahmed Fahour AO, CEO of Gurner Group and former CEO of Australia Post, NAB and Latitude Financial Services.
Mitu Bhowmick Lange is the founding director of Mind Blowing Films. She is also the director of Mind Blowing World, an independent film distribution company that specialises in the distribution of quality local content to Australian, New Zealand and Fiji audiences. As the founder and director of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), Mitu has played a pivotal role in shaping the festival into a globally recognised platform for Indian cinema. She is also on the VicScreen Board and was in 2023, awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to performing arts through film.

The other members of the Council are made up of leading businesspeople from multi-nationals, small businesses, those working in manufacturing, finance, education, retail, the arts, sports, housing, media and philanthropy. These members are:

The Premier’s Business Council is, a media release says, is part of a broader initiative to establish and lead new Forums for business and industry.
