MELBOURNE, 23 August 2022: Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, India’s Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship today said, ” We have to replicate the Australian education model in India.” He was addressing a select gathering of the Indian Diaspora members today at an interaction at the Indian Consulate. The Minister is on a 4 days visit to Australia.

Answering a question by SAT about the backlog of Australian visas for Indian overseas students stuck in India, the Minister said the Australian Education Minister has assured him the visa backlog will be reduced.

In his address, Mr. Pradhan talked about the vibrant Australian education system and the reasons why Indian education was left behind, despite advances thousands of years back. The Indian government’s New Education Policy, he said, is geared towards higher education connected to creating employment.
