New Delhi: The noose tightens around CWG Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi – the CBI is conducting raids at the offices and residences of the CWG boss in Delhi and Pune on Friday, reports IBN Live.
The CBI is conducting raids at four locations including the Commonwealth Games headquarters in Delhi. Residence of a business associate of Kalmadi in Pune also being raided.
Sources have told CNN-IBN that the CBI is looking for documents related to Commonwealth Games overlays.
Case against Suresh Kalmadi expected to be registered by Friday evening. No case has been registered against him as yet.
Reacting to the CBI raids on Kalmadi, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Why so much delay in raids. Not happy with the delayed raids. We expect that no guilty be spared and even those who promptly signed the approvals should also be punished, Why is Kalmadi not arrested immediately while some of his associates are already in the jail.”
Kalmadi’s aides Mohendroo, TS Darbari and Jayachandran are in custody in connection with the CWG scam probe.
