Labor to consolidate talks on free trade pact with India

MELBOURNE, 18 May 2022: An elected Labor Government will further consolidate the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) or free trade talks with India. This was emphasized today by Madeleine King, Shadow Minister for Trade & Shadow Minister for Resources at an online forum organized by the Australia India Business Council NSW – ‘Australia India Business Trade Engagement And Ingoing Bipartisan Support.’

Addressing the online forum Madeleine King said the Australian Labor Party if voted to power in the Federal election will take Australia-India business and trade ahead, as we make decisions in the national interests. Labor wants this to happen, she said.

Others who attended the live session were Jim Perter Varghese, AIBC National Chair, Sheba Nandkeolyar, Immediate Past AIBC Chair, and Host Irfan Malik, AIBC NSW President.
