Art: Abhijit Pal’s interactive art weaves ‘Threads of Destiny’

MELBOURNE, 13 July, 2024: Abhijit Pal’s creation was on display at the ARI (South East), as part of the Winter Arts Festival, Casey Council had many creations on the opening night today for an evening of performances, live art activations and music. Many art lovers and enthusiasts rubbed shoulders amidst many art forms and live music.

Abhijit Pal, was there near his ‘Kalpavriksha: Threads of Destiny’, 2020 x 160cm, cotton textile and wool creation. This piece was interactive which anyone could feel free to add or weave any pattern. Wool, needle and scissor were in a basket.

The creation is a tree from threads, inspired from a real tree in nature. While real trees grow with watering and care, Pal’s thread tree on a cotton cloth grows or decreases when people interact with it. He explains:
