Ahmadiyya community celebrates Australia Day

MELBOURNE, 1 February, 2025: The Ahmadiyya Muslim community today celebrated Australia Day, with the slogan Love For All – Hatred For None. The well-attended Australia Day (A-Day) Dinner function at the Masjid Bait-Us-Salam-House of Peace, Langwarrin, saw the resilience  and commitment of the community towards mainstream multicultural Australia. Decorated with banners and Australian flags the event hall reverberated with  talk of A-Day and it’s importance in our life. And, that how multicultural Australia had given equal rights to different communities to practice their faith.

Addressing the august gathering Julian Hill MP, Federal Member for Bruce, and Assistant Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, said the concept of fair go for all and all the freedoms we have make us a strong country. In a Facebook post he says, “Love for all, hatred for none.’ A generous philosophy to live by. Ahmadiyya Muslim community welcoming everyone to a special Australia Day event. Special shoutout to the great young Australians for sharing what Australia Day means to them!”

Renee Heath MP Member for Eastern Victoria Region insisted on migrants and rights in Australia; though she is a practicing Christian and was happy and expressed the love towards Muslim brothers and sisters attending this event.

Councillor Kris Bolam JP Mayor of Frankston City Council expressed deep love and having excellent array of people gathering in Bait Us Salam mosque and praised about the community work on advocating peace, blood donation drives, charity and tree plantations.

 

 

The National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Australia, Imam. I.H. Kauser stated: “We, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, always pray for the progress and development of our homeland, Australia. In keeping with our traditions, we will celebrate Australia Day at all mosques across the country. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our nation, government, and fellow citizens because our religion teaches us that love for one’s country of residence is a part of faith.” as concluding remarks and led a silent prayer for the prosperity and peace of Australia.”

Others at the function included and who spoke to the gathering included Cr. Jim Memmeti, Mayor of City of Greater Dandenong, Zahid Safi Liberal Candidate for Bruce, Nathan Conroy Liberal Candidate for Dunkley.

Others present included Country Fire Authority (CFA) and police officials, Kim Gammon Multicultural Liaison Unit and others. Dr. Yves Moreau from Liberal Party along with Damien Rosario Former Councillor, City of Casey were also present on this occasion.

The highlight of the occasion was the presence among attendees of guests belonging to different faith and other communities reflecting the multicultural ethos of Victoria and Australia. Many attendees in traditional attire mixed with the guests.

Ahmadiyya booklets were displayed and a photo exhibition about the community added to the days program. There was lot of networking as the dinner was served.
