AMON seminar on ‘Domestic Violence – A Social Cultural Perspective’

MELBOURNE, 29 November, 2024: The Australia Multicultural Organisation Network (AMON) organised an online webinar on the theme ‘Domestic Violence – A social cultural perspective’ with panel members representing council, researcher and community champions .

The session was hosted by Dr Raju Adhikari President AMON, who said the Amon provides an unique multicultural forum to discuss issues faced by all migrants irrespective of their nationality.

The panel members highlighted the needs for more resources and awareness of the whole process from understanding what domestic violence is to monitoring behaviour, reporting, consequences and support to victims , more training to police , greater advocacy and campaign by the community organisation at grass root working with councils through webinar and meetings , include minority LGBT and disable community as well as those student who generally don’t have Medicare support.

Earlier, Mr. Manoj Kumar Amon chair welcomed the attendees and Mr. Dur Ashna Vice President thanked the participants.
