AMU-Jamia alumni celebrate Eid with gaiety & fervor

MELBOURNE, 28 May 2022: A large number of alumni of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) here gathered to be part of the Eid dinner with great enthusiasm. The event took place at the Azooba Bar-B-Q Lounge, Tullamarine in a relaxed and lively atmosphere.

The alumni were joined by families and friends making the event a catch-up and networking opportunity. Former university mates could be seen talking and cracking jokes as families with kids mixed up enjoyed the colorful evening.

Dr. Mohammad Ayubi, President, Aligarh Muslim University Association, Australia, and Syed Asif Hasan, President, Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association, Victoria, addressed the august gathering wearing the traditional attire recalling the grand old days and the happiness to be together.

Children were presented with ‘Edi’ (Eid gift) envelopes as their names were called out one by one. A few of them and others also gave religious presentations.

This perfect networking dinner evening united mates and their families who once studied together. No doubt, the tasty sumptuous dinner had mixed kebab, mutton korma, chicken kadhai, Paneer Butter Masala, Chicken Biryani, and Indian bread.

The evening’s mix of celebration, networking, and food was a nostalgic event laced with the spirit of the AMU and JMI memories.
