Celebrate India launches ‘Victorian festival of Diwali 2023’ program

MELBOURNE, 31 October 2023: The Celebrate India launched the program of it’s ‘Victorian festival of Diwali 2023’ today at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground’s (MCG)  Committee Room in the presence of stakeholders, leaders of many community organisations, sponsors, political leaders and government bodies. Celebrate India has been observing the festival of lights (Diwali) since 2006 at the famous Federation Square, Melbourne.  India’s cultural ethos laced with its various aspects performed by local artists remains its hallmark. This year is no exception.

The MCG Committee Room bustled with the cream of the community, influencers and officials rubbing shoulders for the program launch. The MCG stands in the background gave the ambience of festivity and joy. Arun Sharma, Chairman of the Celebrate India while welcoming the guests, detailed the main program, of music, dance, comedy, cultural items among others. And, the illumination of the Federation Square, Indian Consulate, Old Treasury Building and the  Museum among others.

Among others who addressed the gathering were Nick Staikos MP, Member for Bentleigh, representing of Premier and representative of the leader of Opposition in Victoria. A booklet with the program details was also released.

The beautiful Indian classical dances in the shadow of photographs of cricket legends spiced up the evening’s cultural ethos.
