Federal Labor delegation visits Durga Temple

 

 

MELBOURNE, 5 February 2023: A  Federal Government and Labor Party delegation today visited the Sri Durga Temple, Rockbank to assess and hear the concerns of the Hindu community first hand about the last month’s  incidents of  alleged vandalism of three Hindu temples and also the subsequent violence later seen  at the Federation Square.The matter is being investigated by the Victoria Police.

The delegation included Hon.Clare O Neil – Minister for Home Affairs, Hon.Tim Watts MP – Assist. Minister for Foreign Affairs and Peter Khalil MP – Chair of Parliamentary Committee for Security and Intelligence.

A large number of  members of the Indian community were also present which included many community leaders who raised the community concerns with the visitors.
