
MELBOURNE, 1 May, 2026: After Dr. Sushil Kumar, India’s Consul General’s transfer, Mr. Anish Rajan replaced him, and it was his turn today to be welcomed by community organisation leaders, faith organisers, and local influencers. Organised by the Australian Indian Community Charitable Trust (AICCT), Federation of Indian Associations in Victoria (FIAV), Australia India Society Victoria (AISV) and Federation of Indian Music & Dance Victoria, the august gathering talked, listened , and networked as the temperature did not dip much.
Office bearers from different Indian and faith bodies based here one by one introduced themselves and the rest were acknowledged by Vasan Srinivasan, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice-President for Oceania Region – World Federation for Mental Health, leading the AICCT, welcomed Mr. Anish Rajan and introduced him to the community. He was presented a shawl of honour by Subra and Karan.
In his address Mr. Anish Rajan praised the Indian Diaspora and the role of the FIAV and related organisations to make the Indian community part and parcel of Australian society. Later he freely networked with Diaspora members and community leaders.
The program wrapped up with a tasty South Indian dinner and people snapping with the guest.
