Mitu Bhowmick’s keynote address set the tone for FUTURE20 FEMALE22 CONFERENCE

MELBOURNE, 25 March 2022: It’s interesting and inspiring to hear someone’s career graph laced with ups and downs. Especially, when one is well embedded and the shift leads to success. Mitu Bhowmick’s keynote address today at the ‘Future20 Female22 Conference’ at the beautiful Arts Centre was heard with a massive women audience with attention and surprises, as step by step, she traced her life from Delhi to Mumbai and finally to Melbourne. The initial career breaks in film-city Mumbai and the subsequent successes, she says, made her what she is now. Currently, Director & Founder of the Mind Blowing Films distributing Indian movies in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji and Festival Director of the annual iconic Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), her success story speaks for itself.

It’s hard work that pays. Opportunities are always messy and I came very resentfully to Melbourne, but the shooting of ‘Salaam Namaste’ was a big challenge and finally a success, she says.

The conference was also addressed by Gonul Serbest, CEO of Global Victoria, Prof Vasso Apostolopoulos, Pro VC, Research Partnerships, Victoria University. The panel discussion ‘Viability of Stories’ with Tasneem Chopra, Dilpreet Taggar, Dhanya Mani and Cristina Abela captivated the audience.

This conference was exciting, inspirational, and promoted the talent and potential of all international students studying in Victoria. Thanks to the support from Study Melbourne, Victoria University and other Future Female partners, it was able to inspire the audience.
