New Rajasthan Kutumb of Victoria committee takes charge

MELBOURNE, 4 May 2023 : Rajasthan’s rich, vibrant and colourful cultural ethos is known across the world. In Victoria, this is being carried forward by the Rajasthani Kutumb of Victoria (RAJKOV) since 2001. A new committee to manage its activities for 2023-24 has been appointed to help lead the community towards further growth and development. The new committee members bring with them a wealth of experience in various fields as well as a strong understanding and connection to Rajasthani culture. They are committed to working together to foster a sense of unity, camaraderie, and inclusivity within the Kutumb.

Their shared vision is to take the organisation to new heights as a tribute to the founding members and establish itself as an important part of the multicultural Victoria and Australia. The RAJKOV is a tight-knit group of people who take great pride in their heritage and culture and are actively engaged in promoting their values and traditions through various social and cultural events.

The new committee members recently elected are Mr. Ravi Sharma (President), Mr. Prashant Bhatnagar (Vice President), Mr. Sarvesh Prasad (Secretary), Ms. Shrilekha Jain (Treasurer), Ms. Kshama Agrawal (Head of Partnerships & Collaborations), Ms. Pooja Agrawal (Head of Community Engagement), Ms. Nikita Jain (Head of Next Generation Youth Engagement) and & Mr. Amit Sharma (Head of Technology Transformation).

Talking to South Asia Times (SAT), Ms. Kshama Agrawal said, “Our vision is to create a stronger and more united Kutumb that is recognised for its achievements, culture, and traditions. We are committed to working hard to empower our youth, nurture our talent and create opportunities for our community members to thrive. The newly appointed committee is also passionate about driving technology transformation within Kutumb in every possible way.

And, Mr. Ravi Sharma said, “We are excited to have the opportunity to lead our Kutumb towards a brighter future. Our primary focus this year will be to work with the Rajasthan government in India to promote economic, social, and cultural ties between the two regions. The committee aims to achieve this vision by organising cultural events, promoting Rajasthani heritage, and creating a platform for the community to come together and share their experiences. We also plan to work closely with local businesses, government officials, and other organisations to create opportunities for the betterment of the community.”
