SBS releases ‘Australia Explained’ postcast in Punjabi

MELBOURNE, 15 March 2021: If you are a Punjabi speaker and want to know all things Aussie, including need-to-know slang, foods, music, sports, comedy, and much more then you should listen to the SBS Radio (Punjabi) popular podcast series whose new installment has been launched today.

Australia Explained is a weekly podcast that uncovers the quirky habits that embody the Aussie way of life. The six-episode Punjabi series will be available on all popular podcast platforms.

With a new episode dropping every Monday, the light-hearted series discusses elements of Australian life that aren’t always understood by newcomers to the country such as Aussie slang, humour, food, and more.

Hosted by SBS Radio Journalist and Presenter, Preetinder Singh Grewal, each episode will feature a well-known Punjabi-speaking Australian guest who can shine a light on different topics including former MasterChef Australia contestant Sandeep Pandit and Melbourne’s favourite Punjabi comedian, Sammy Gill.

Australia Explained aims to make it easier for Punjabi-speaking audiences to access free information about the Australian cultural topics that most impact them.

The podcast delivers on SBS’s commitment to provide balanced and impartial news and information to Australia’s Punjabi speaking community, in order to help involve and engage them in society and as such deliver on SBS’s purpose to promote social cohesion within Australia.
