
MELBOURNE, 18 June, 2024: Traditionally, one goes to a library to read or borrow a book or publication. The Parliament of Victoria library with more than 50,000 books, and other publications is meant for use of Members of Parliament and and their electorate officers. For a change today at the library’s back section (South Library) people and guests assembled for ‘Health is Wealth’, celebration of ’10th International Day of Yoga’ amidst books, getting added since 1861, when the library was completed. A mixed ambience of knowledge and Yoga was there in a unique display of celebration.
Many MPs from the Liberal and Labor parties joined the community Yoga enthusiasts in asana, Pranayama, meditation, and Yoga message. The Indian Consul General, Dr. Sushil Kumar, was present and participated in the vibrant sessions. Leader of opposition John Pesutto and Dr. Sushil Kumar addressed the gathering.
The presence of Hon. John Pesutto, Leader of the Opposition; Brad Rowswell MP; Hon. Natalie Hutchins, Minister for Jobs and Industry; Hon. Enver Erdogan, Minister for Corrections; John Mullahy MP; Chris Crewther MP; David Southwick MP; Cindy Mcleish MP; Bev McCarthur MP; Mr. Lee Tarmalis MP, Dr. Sushil Kumar, Consul General of India; many community leaders, and yoga enthusiasts backed by Mr. Rampal Mutyala and Mr. Raj Saini helped make the event a success.
“We seek continued support from parliamentary policymakers and community leaders to make this world a healthy and better place to live. and thank the office of Brad Rowswell MP for hosting this year’s event, as in past years. Vasudeva Kriya Yoga has been conducting IDY in Parliament since 2015,” Mr. Rampal said.
The guests were honoured and many a group photos taken. The event of wellness was organised by the Vasudeva Kriya Yoga, and supported by the Indian Consulate, Melbourne.
