MELBOURNE, 22 MAY 2022: It was a day of massive fun, entertainment, and art appreciation for thousands who visited the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) today to attend an array of events in the Indian Utsav that included a Bhangra, classical, and Bollywood music, activities for kids and exhibitions which showcased Indian art in many forms. People explored the latest exhibition – Transforming Worlds: Change and Tradition in Contemporary India, showcasing the unique artistic traditions developed by diverse indigenous and regional communities across India. There were Bollywood dances and workshops to learn them.

The exhibitions were revealing and the artwork colorfully reflected the diversity of traditional arts in their minutest details. The old sculptures talked about the intricate art forms developed in the Indian subcontinent centuries back. People enjoyed the sounds of Indian classical music from Jay Dagbar and Saikat Bhattacharya. Masala Chai and Mango Lassi were the popular drinks.

No doubt, the NGV India Utsav was a community day where families and individuals enjoyed and many danced as they learned Bollywood dancing. The guided tours of the exhibitions were another attraction.
