

MELBOURNE September 2, 2024 : Renowned Punjabi lyricist, film writer and author Gurwinder Singh ‘Gill Raunta’, has won many herts during his tour of Australia, with is new book, ‘Hello! Main Lahore ton Baldan’.
Recently, Melbourne played host to Raunta, drawing hundreds of people to an event presented by Surinder Sidhu & Sidhu Family Homes. The turnout was a testament to Raunta’s popularity and the anticipation surrounding his literary work.
“Hello! Main Lahore ton bolda” is not just another book; it’s a travelogue that takes readers on a journey through the history of divided Punjab, as experienced during Raunta’s visit to Pakistan.
The book has sold 17,000 copies in the last three months. Initially published in Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi, the book’s popularity has sparked demand for an English version, which is set to be released soon.
The author was facilitated at the Victorian Parliament for contributions to Punjabi literature. He was recognised with an Award of Recognition from the Parliament of Victoria.
The honour was bestowed in the presence of Hon. Evan Mulholland MP (Northern Metropolitan) and Goldy Brar, Member of the Liberal Party of Victoria, further cementing the cultural significance of Raunta’s work.
