Afghan singer-activist Aryana Sayeed to be at the IFFM awards night

MELBOURNE, 26 July 2024: Afghan singer and activist Aryana Sayeed will be at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 (IFFM 2024), awards night on Friday, 16th August 2024, at 7PM, at the Palais Theatre, St Kilda. Aryana is a pop singer and a women’s rights  activist and mostly sings in Dari but has also sang in Pashto and Uzbek languages.

Her presence at the IFFM 2024, will be a big boost to the annual festival celebrating its 15th year. The festival from 15 to 25 August, 2024, will also see the presence of Indian cinema sensations A. R. Rahaman, Ram Charan, Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji, Sona Mohapatra, Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Nora Fatehi, among others.

Aryana Sayeed has carved a path as one of Afghanistan’s most celebrated artists, breaking boundaries with her music that speaks to the heart and soul of her homeland. Her journey is one of resilience and artistic courage, making her an inspirational figure both in music and beyond.

Celebrating the magic of cinema and music together at the IFFM with Aryana Sayeed along with numerous popular Indian movie stars is expected to light-up the South Asian music and entertainment scene in Melbourne.
