There are rumors HOMEBOUND will be released at a OTT platform in November, 2025.
Here is the trailer for Homebound, offering audiences a glimpse at a sweeping and emotional drama starring Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa.
Homebound is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan (Masaan) and executive produced by legendary filmmaker, Martin Scorsese, whose involvement underscores the film’s global ambition and cinematic scale.
Earlier this year, Homebound had its World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section, where it was celebrated for its intimate storytelling and powerful performances. The film has continued to gain momentum on the international festival circuit, earning acclaim as the Second Runner-Up for the International People’s Choice Award at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film was also screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025.
The film follows two childhood friends from rural North India, who aspire to become policemen. They face caste and religious discrimination as they try to escape their societal roles, and struggle with systemic prejudice. Janhvi Kapoor’s character is also shown trying to push against restrictions.
Produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions, Homebound releases worldwide on 26th September 2025, distributed overseas by PHARS Film and Moviegoers Entertainment.
