MELBOURNE, 17 April 2025: Gear up for Brown Women Comedy, which is back and bigger than ever, hitting stages across Melbourne and Sydney in 2025 with a powerhouse international line-up featuring top comedians from India and Australia.
After a sold-out national tour in 2024, with over 3,400 attendees across 41 shows, this critically acclaimed show is returning to shake up Australia’s comedy scene once again. This year’s show has some of India’s funniest stand-up comedians alongside the best South Asian Australian talent.
Laugh your heart out to an award-winning, bold & besharam (shameless) line-up of Indian & South Asian Australian comedians. No topic is too taboo, and these women are not afraid to push boundaries. Between family drama, societal expectations, and relationships, we’ll be trauma bonding over life’s little absurdities. Your parents may not approve – but when has that ever stopped you? With over 3,400 people attending in 2024 and sold-out shows across Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide, you definitely won’t want to miss this one. Get ready for comedy that goes there.
In Sydney the show will be taking place at Riverside Theatres and The Comedy Store which is Australia’s premier stand-up comedy club, presenting world-class comedy since 1981. In Melbourne the show will take place at FortyFiveDownstairs – one of Melbourne’s most renowned and multi-faceted creative hubs & Fitzroy Town Hall.
First Regional Roadshow
The show is also headed regionally for the first time thanks to support from Creative Australia. The regional roadshow includes comedians Guneet Kaur, Ru Halwala, Daizy Maan & Kru Harale and is headed to Wagga Comedy Festival (6 June),Griffith NSW (7 June), Shepparton (16 July), Wodonga (17 July) & Dubbo (18 July)

Daizy Maan (Melbourne) – Producer & Comedian
A viral sensation with 25 million+ views on Tiktok, Daizy’s comedy is sharp, sassy, and fearless—turning her pendu (bogan) Punjabi existence into pure stand-up gold.
Niv Prakasam (India) – Netflix & TLC’s “Queens of Comedy” Winner
With 5.7 million views on her first YouTube video and a Netflix special, Niv is one of India’s rising comedy stars, bringing her sharp observational wit to Australia for the first time.
Ramya Ramapriya (India) – Amazon Prime’s “Comicstaan”, Co-writer Netflix’s “Guns & Gulaabs”- A master of quirky, whip-smart storytelling, Ramya has built a huge following with her viral IG skits and stand-up sets.
Kru Harale (Melbourne) – As seen on ABC’s “Win The Week”. A high-energy firecracker, Kru’s comedy blends her fresh (off the boat) migrant perspective with razor-sharp storytelling.
Guneet Kaur (Sydney) – RAW Comedy National Finalist 2022
