Netflix tops Australian streaming market with 26 % share: JustWatch

MELBOURNE, 13 April 2024: As the first quarter of 2024 is wrapping up, latest data report on market shares in Australia, based on report on JustWatch users in Australia selecting their streaming services, clicking out to streaming offers and marking titles as seen gives a clear picture of the market shares of different streaming platforms.

The subscription video on demand (SVOD) market shares in the quarter one of  2024 reveals Netflix continues to make its mark in the country with shares 3x the size of Paramount+. Meanwhile, Prime Video continues to hold a strong position in #2 with the size equivalent to Binge and Stan combined.

Ninety-five percent market is  controlled by the top seven streaming platforms (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Binge, Stan, Paramount+, Foxtel Now and the rest of the 5 per cent by the other smaller players.

Market share development in 2024
In the first three months of the year, Prime Video and Paramount+ show tremendous development with an increase of +1% each. Meanwhile, Disney+ stumbled and fell by -1%.

Despite being both owned by Foxtel, Binge improves its market share with a +1% increase while Foxtel Now suffers from a -1% decline, says the JustWatch.
