NEW DELHI/MELBOURNE: Lara Dutta and Anya Singh talked to South Asia Times (SAT) online candidly about their latest OTT serial on Zee5 ‘Kaun Banegi Shikharwati’, released on 7 January 2022. The 10 episode serial is a former royal-family comedy-drama where four daughters compete in a series of royal games to be chosen as heir of Naseeruddin’s kingdom Shikharwati.
The movie was also shot in Mandava Palace, Rajasthan in 2020 during the height of the Corona pandemic in India in a bubble with the temperature shooting up to 43 degrees C and has the feel of a big-screen movie, says Lara Dutta.
She also describes how in the early morning Raghuvir Yadav used to play the flute during the shooting in Mandava.
Anya Singh, fondly describes how she learned a lot on the sets and her co-actors made her comfortable. I was not nervous after the second day of shooting, she says. This production is a light watch emphasizing the importance of the family.
