MELBOURNE, 30 July 2021: This beautiful Tamil short film with English subtitles is about a swimming champion in Tamilnadu who is confronted by her first period as she is about to participate in a championship. The conservative family initiates celebratory rituals that contradict her sporting ambition. The movie is a symbol of her courage that triumphs over the traditional status of a woman. The rural visuals are a treat laced with mesmerizing music. The subject treatment and Apoorva Satish’s able direction are excellent. The camerawork adds to the movie’s smooth cinematic ambiance. This is a treat.
